0:42.0	You have been an inspiration for so many parents, my wife and myself included, for taking
0:48.2	a leading role and speaking out on behalf of parents, particularly at a time when I think a lot
0:52.9	of us were seeing what was
0:55.1	transpiring in schools during the COVID period and frankly having a lot of parents
1:00.5	stepping out into a more public role running for school boards or just being more active
1:05.3	with their children's education. I think it would be very helpful for our audience to hear
1:09.7	your story and what it was that inspired you to take a more active role.
1:14.0	So I was a stay-at-home mom. My husband and I have four kids. They're now 2017, 15, and 13.
1:19.9	But in 2016, we had four kids in public school. And I decided to run for school board because I had been volunteering at my kids' school
1:27.5	and just really saw that parents weren't being listened to as much as they should be.
1:32.8	And I was able to advocate for that school and get some repairs done.
1:35.7	And I thought, well, it would be great if I could help other parents to get involved too
1:39.6	and to make a change happen?
1:40.9	So I ran for school board and I saw behind the education curtain. And then COVID
