This episode is for you parents, all right? So it's for parents of athletes. I'm a parent of athletes.

athletes. And I want you to know that you are indeed doing it wrong. Now, before you start to feel

have it figured out, I want to remind you that I don't. All right, this is not about that.

And the reason why I'm framing this in the way that I am is because you must see the error

Otherwise, you're going to continue to make the same deadly mistakes, the same costly mistakes, mistakes that I've learned through failure and some through success as well.

So I can still remember, you know, the first time I saw my son, my oldest son, going, when

I first went to his first football game, I think he was, you know, he was in elementary school.

And when I tell you how excited and proud I was, it almost brought tears to my face.

I had to walk away so that my kids and my wife at the time didn't see me crying.

I was excited. I still remember my oldest son who wrestles now in college. You know, he started

wrestling in middle school and I didn't come from any wrestling background. So, you know, I hadn't

seen him wrestle yet. I didn't know much about the sport. But, you know, he was telling me that he was pretty good and, you know, he's getting a lot of

great feedback from his coaches and things. And, you know, sure enough, right when I showed up to

his first match, the first time I saw him wrestle, I had parents coming up to me saying, oh, you know, your son is Juan. Oh man, that kid's got a lot of talent.

So I watch him wrestle and he's going up against this kid.
