Samantha Fay's book. It's called The Awake Dreamer. And I'm going to read an extract from

chapter three, which is called Dream Visitations. And this is a section called Knocking on Heaven's

door. And this is what Samantha has written.

The belief in our ability to visit the departed in dreams goes back thousands of years.

Plato called our dream time the Metaxus, a state between worlds.

He believed that there is a place we go to in our sleep state

where we can meet with ascended beings and our

deceased loved ones. First century BCE writer Cicero told of a man named Simonides, who

offered to help give a proper burial to a stranger. As Simonides was preparing to sail away on a trip,

the stranger he had helped weeks before appeared to him in a dream and warned him not to go.

Simonides heeded the warning and later learned that the ship sank and everybody aboard drowned.
