1:06.3	William Alden, a spiritualist in the community of Leona owned farmland along Casadaga Lake and welcomed
1:13.8	other believers to his property for an annual camp that featured speakers like Andrew Jackson
1:19.9	Davis. By 1879, a year after Alden's passing, a committee of spiritualists purchased his land, along with
1:28.6	the property just north of it, and started building.
1:32.6	Situated right next to the lily-covered lake, the 20-plus acres of land became known as Lillydale.
1:39.2	Today, spiritualism remains the only religion in the small community.
1:44.0	As historian Roy Nagy puts it,
1:46.6	Lily Dale is to spiritualism as Rome is to Catholicism.
