Hello, I would like to thank my unsung hero.

He invited me to come over for Christmas because we're both. I just want to say thank you.

Today's story comes from Paola Lopez.

Paola is from Chile. In 2015 she went on an eight-day trek through a national park in Patagonia with her boyfriend.

The conditions were challenging.

You go like through hills and through forests, mud, sometimes like high

altitude and I remember it was very windy and so it was cold. It's always like why am I doing this? I could be like

cozy in my home like like sometimes you lose the purpose or why are you hiking

this in this terrible conditions and with a very heavy backpack?

Like you have to carry your own food and all your stuff for eight days.

Maybe around day three or four we encounter with this guy that he was walking in the opposite

direction of us. We saw him like from from afar and he was walking like very decisive and he was with a big headphones and he just look at us like for an instant for a second and he stopped.

Maybe we look miserable, but we definitely somehow

we look disconnected from the place.

Like we were not talking like in our own thoughts,

like thinking a lot and when I think too much

while I'm walking, I realized that I started looking at the ground a lot. So he definitely saw something

on me on us that tell him that we were not enjoying that moment.

And he said, like, guys, like, look where you are.

Like, everything is in your head.
