I'm Caitlin Prest. So I was talking to my dad the other day for an upcoming heart project about

the gray areas of consent. And we were getting into a conversation about power and masculinity and

femininity and what my dad as a pretty stereotypical heterosexual man grew up thinking that he was

supposed to be. For a while, I mean there was even a pile like this recently is four years ago

where I felt, oh I should be more manly. I should be like the jocks. I should be you know blah blah blah.

And yeah more of a sportsman, whatever you know. And then I realized, Kate, you know what? I'm not.

I'm not. And I don't have to be embarrassed about that. I'm definitely not your macho,

gun-toting, hunting, sports fan guy. And then I realized that that is okay. That is completely fine.

And you'll get you know, I think everybody is born with a certain in his you know,

on a spectrum like a spectrum between masculine and feminine.

I felt proud that my dad has an innate sense of a spectrum of gender. No one ever taught him that.
