I'm going to be completely honest.

When I first heard what it was about, I was like, say what?

I don't know.

Like, I had to really think about it because you do get a lot in the rooms, for me, at least in my experience, I've heard a lot of people tell me I am the future of Alcoholics Anonymous because I am young. But I thought I would share my experience with my first meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous because I believe it has a lot to do with this particular topic.

I first came to a meeting in Alcoholics Anonymous when I was 16 years old, and I went to a meeting that was close by my house,

and there was not one person there that was even remotely close to my age.

Most people were old enough to probably be my grandparents, and I was very uncomfortable because of that. I felt immediately, like, self-conscious,

like, oh, my God, you know, like, am I supposed to be here? Are they, you know, being judgmental

of me? Am I too young for this? You know, all of the I supposed to be here? Are they, you know, being judgmental of me? Am I too young for this?
