Let me start off by thanking the committee for giving me this opportunity to share something

with you that's particularly important in my sobriety today, emotional

sobriety. How was the banquet? Because it feels like you've just finished the banquet,

and this is the main speaker. There's a lot of people here today.

Anyway, I really am delighted to be here. As I said, this is, you know, I've had some challenges throughout my recovery and it's really been a journey.

And a lot of the things that people told me when I first came into AA,

and I thought they were full of it, and I didn't understand,

they were all pretty spot on with everything.

So I'm going to share some of that with you today.

But first, let me tell you a little bit about me.

I am. I won't tell you how old I am.

You can figure that out. But I get sober in 2002, December of 2002, and came out of recovery, joined the welcome group, and I've been a member of the welcome group since then.

I still have the same sponsor.

I still go to meetings on a regular basis.

I sponsor young men, old men,

and I try to share my experiences with them. I'm still active in service. I'm still
