The discussions we are featuring date

from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic

back in 2020, three years ago. Today's and tomorrow's interviews

were conducted shortly after public health agencies across the country

were advising everyone to stay indoors and only leave your home if absolutely necessary.

We're only supposed to do that if we were masked and stayed six feet away from each other.

Here in the US during those very first days of the virus, we already seem to have lost our patients and could not wait to get back to what we called normal, which was never normal to begin with. And the fact that we thought that was normal

shows exactly how abnormal society had become. Normal was mass shootings in U.S. public schools on a regular basis.

Normal was families being forced to choose to pay rent for the roof they needed over

their heads to protect themselves from the elements or pay for the prescriptions

drugs needed to for family members to not you know die.

Normal was inequality being rampant with multi-billionaires being lionized for hoarding their wealth

while the poor were vilified for demanding a living wage.
