Why are we here not entirely clear?

We are misfits, thrust into existence

by random chance with no hints at all as to how we're supposed

to make sense of it all it's immensely bizarre here we are.

All right. Hello everybody and welcome to a very special edition of the Here We Are Podcast, Pandemic Edition. I am here today with a fantastic guest. We have a fantastic story of how we met, or virtually met, that we're going to share with you but I'm talking with

animal behaviorist and assistant professor at the University of Arizona.

Jennifer Verdelyn is joining me. Jennifer, thank you so much for

being here. Pleasure, happy to be here. So for anyone finding this for the first

time, I am a, I've been doing this podcast for five and a half years I did all

of them in person they were always just audio and then and then the world went into

lockdown and we've we've all had to make some adjustments and

compromises and I've tried to find silver linings anywhere that I can and find new opportunities and

one thing that this has allowed me to do is talk with whoever I want to virtually

and or remotely rather and then and even add it to YouTube so this is we're just starting to do

YouTube with the podcast and also which I think will add a lot for people and then I'm also

doing which the podcast I've been doing one episode a week for the past five and a half years and now I'm doing multiple

special editions, pandemic editions talking about the the current situation

that we all that we all find ourselves in in examining it from as many

different scientific perspectives as possible giving people a different take

than what they're used to hearing on the news.
