Kursley. I'm taking you back to when Pandamania hit Taiwan.

In 2008, China gave Taiwan a gift of two pandas.

This practice, known as Panda Diplom diplomacy, is thought to date back as far as the seventh century.

Twantuan and Yuenuen, China's newest diplomats, say their names together in Chinese and it means unite.

The symbolism couldn't be clearer. Taiwan's the self-governing island China desperately wants back.

The pandas are a way to win friends there. of out of 20 panders who were born in 2004 and I think they went through a very careful

selection process because they were extremely cute and adorable and you could

call them like the Hansen and the beauty like the Babian Ken in a

panda and one particular thing about them is that they get along with each other quite well.

That's Eve Chen, who works at Taipei Zoo in Taiwan.

She was in charge of importing and looking after the pandas from China.

Even her team went to visit the Wollung Panda Reserve in China in 2006.
