In fact, I look forward to bringing you conversations every single day that hopefully inspire you in your faith walk, that deepen your understanding of God's word and that

heightens your awareness of his very real presence in your life. Well, I would say pretty much

every single person within the sound of my voice has a few unfulfilled longings in their lives.

In my book, Your Beautiful Purpose, I talk about these four specific seasons we tend to find

ourselves in as God prepares us for the next

place he has for us. And one of those seasons I call active waiting. You know, you look like business as

usual on the outside, but there's an active deep longing on the inside. Maybe you're going through

the motions of your day job or family life. But deep inside, there's this active groaning that

you're keeping before the Lord.

Whether you're a guy or gal, you feel like you're pregnant with something. Like something has

been birthed in you or there's a long-awaited desire that is not going away for you. And you're

keeping it before the Lord. And you know what? That's active waiting. We're going to talk a little

bit about that in a little bit because there are temptations in that time and there's just wise steps we can take in that time.

But maybe you have a longing that you've sort of just tossed by the wayside.

And that's what passive waiting looks like. It's more like tossing it aside in hopes that someday it maybe comes to fruition.

Well, I hope it changes. It's kind of a

hope-so hope, you know? But if we zoom out a bit, we may also find people listening today who are

literally in a season of transition. Maybe you haven't made your move yet, but you strongly sense

a move is coming. Or maybe you have made a move. You've transitioned from one job to another.

Or you decide to go back to school.
