Sometimes do you ever land on a passage? You just won't let you go. Well, this passage won't let me go.

I keep returning to it time and time again, probably because I had some trust issues in the past.

And God is sort of untangling those and inviting me to trust him in places where I've been maybe striving and not trusting him.

Jeremiah 17, verse 6.7. I'm going to go to verse 7 first. Blessed are those who trust in the Lord

and have made the Lord their hope and their confidence. And I'm going to paraphrase this because I don't

have the verse right in front of me. But it says they will be like trees planted by streams of living

water. Their roots go down deep into the

water and they're not bothered by the heat. They don't fear long months of drought. Their leaves stay

green and they continue to bear fruit. To me, that is such a picture of regarding what's happening

in culture, even in the climate. When you are planted in the Lord, your roots are going into the water of the living God.
