But right now, I want to jump into a guest that we don't have for long.

Roger Bailey, who's got to spend much of the day in court, but he's carved out a few minutes for us.

Roger Bailey is one of the lead attorneys and the massive lawsuit filed by Palisades residents against the city of Los Angeles, the DWP, the state of

California for the deadly Palisades fire that killed 12 people, tens of billions of dollars

and damages, and somebody's got to pay and be held accountable for this.

And now, an L.A. County Superior Court judge, Samantha Jester,

has said that the lawsuit can go forward because there had been a filing to try to stop the lawsuit,

the state and the city claiming immunity. We're going to have Roger Bailey explain all this.

Roger, how are you?

I'm doing good, John. How are you doing? I'm good. Well, tell me, and I know a lot of this is a traditional

legal jousting, but the city and the state tried to make the argument that they're immune from a

lawsuit like this. Yeah, that's right. And I want to be clear that we had a hearing

yesterday in the Superior Court, and the judge issued what are called tentative rulings. And

these are written rulings that the court puts together over the weeks to proceed the hearing. And

then after the hearing, the court will issue a final ruling.
