Economic cooperation is high on the agenda at a major summit in Pakistan.

I'm Leanna Byrne, good morning. So Pakistan's capital,

Islamabad, is on lockdown today as a major international summit kicks off. Leaders from

Russia, China, Iran and India are all attending. Security is tight, especially after two Chinese

nationals were killed in a militant attack near Karachi last week. The BBC's

Nikil and Amdar is following it all. Hello. Hi Leona. So tell us all about the summit and

what are the objectives? Essentially on the agenda things such as security, trade,

economic cooperation, regional connectivity.

I think this is also a time for countries such as China,

which have invested heavily in Pakistan

to take stock of some of the big projects

under its Belt and Road Initiative.

So for instance, in the morning today, you had the Chinese Premier Li Chiang,

as well as Pakistan's Prime Minister inaugurate an international airport

think there was a virtual inauguration also of the Guadur port.

So it's really an opportunity for countries in this region to take stock of some of the

regional connectivity projects

and the regional cooperation projects that they've all been engaged in.

And it's called the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.

It moves around each year, doesn't it? I'm just wondering why is it called
