And 17 million of those people are in so much pain that it restricts their life.

As a doctor, I treat people in pain every day.

But over the years, my understanding of pain, the role that it plays in our lives and the

exciting new ways to treat it, have transformed me into who I am as a doctor, as well as a

person.
