the kind that sustains me through the winter drabs.

that feed the soul and remind us of what we're capable of.

There's this scene from the 2004 film Frida,

where a doctor forbids the iconic artist, played by Salma Hayek,

from attending what is the first art showing in Frida's home country of Mexico,

something that she's been wanting her whole life.

If the bronchitis gets worse it will turn into pneumonia.

Frida under no circumstances that you to leave this bed.

Frida was sick not only with bronchitis, by this time she'd been battling the side effects of polio and a

freak trolley accident that left her unable to bear children.

Frida spent her entire adult life in pain and it's only now that I've lived a little

that I understand how pain both mental and physical can actually be a driving force

to create some of the best work of our lives.
