Hey, this is Meredith. When we first released this episode with Lydia Laird in the spring of

2021, awareness about mental health issues among Americans was increasing. We knew the pandemic

had had an impact on so many people, but we had no idea just how much. Today, it seems rates of

depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation are at an all-time high. And unfortunately, we as the

church and body of believers, we haven't always responded well. I think Lydia's experience mirrors

that of many believers. If you're struggling, her story will give you hope. Page 84 of the unfolding

You know, I felt a lot of shame.

I felt like something was wrong with me.

I was sitting around confessing sins all day long trying to feel better, trying to feel

closer to God and feel like, okay, maybe if I did something to push him away, you know,

I could fix it, which is so not the gospel.

God's story has been unfolding.

Since the beginning of time.

He invites you to be a part of it.
