Hi, this is Meredith Foster.

Mark Schultz is a talented and successful singer and songwriter and an incredible storyteller.

One part of Mark's personal story is adoption. He grew up knowing he was adopted and he's shared that story in songs and in concerts, but it wasn't until Mark was

holding his own adopted daughter that he had a revelation about a father's love. He began to

understand God's love in a way that changed his life. When did you realize

you were adopted? Gosh, I was probably in the third grade because I was going through my baby book

and there was stuff in my baby book that my sister didn't have. She's not adopted. I've got a brother

who's not adopted five years older than me, a sister who's not adopted a year younger than me, and I'm in the middle.

And so I was like, hey, mom, I see a discrepancy here.

My sister has more stuff on her baby book, and why is that?

And she said, well, it's because, son, you were adopted.

And I said, I don't even know what that means.

And she said, it means with your brother and your sister, that's just who we got.
