but the tide was starting to turn where mentally I was looking at the glasses half empty.

I was preparing to die.

I was not preparing to live.

God's story has been unfolding. Since the beginning of time.

He invites you to be a part of it.

Hi, this is Meredith Foster.

From the time he was young, Mark Benninger understood that his life was in God's hands.

As a baby, he was diagnosed with a chronic illness that has no cure,

requires hours of treatment every day, and typically takes decades off of life expectancy.

That reality could cause many to live in anxiety and fear, and that's where Mark could live.

But he was born with an adventurous spirit,

and he's felt a consistent call from God asking him, will you trust me?

When I was in kindergarten, I heard a message at a church for the very first time that Jesus loves you and that he died for you. And that radically changed my life because just a few years earlier,

my mom and brother had been killed in a car accident on Interstate 80 in Iowa.

And I was with my dad in the vehicle in front of them.

And I remember the day very clearly. It was June of 1980.

And so when my dad remarried to my stepmom, she decided to take me to church. And that night,

I heard a message about Jesus dying on the cross and that he loves you and that he died for you.
