Randy and Monica Zachary had been married and doing ministry for 10 years.

As a pastor and pastor's wife, they did what they had always done, put on a happy face and

pretend that everything was okay. But it was not okay. With every passing year, the weight of

their secrets got heavier. Alcoholism, deceit, and a chasm between them made it seem like

a healthy marriage was impossible. After 10 years in Christian

radio and youth ministry, Monica File for Divorce, we were hopeless as they come because of our

brokenness, but we faked it for a long time. Oh, man, I know for me, I faked it for the first 10 years

because that's all I knew. Because of my background,

I was so broken as a person. Can you describe your marriage what it was like in those 10 years?

I mean, what did it look like living it out day to day? And what was it about it that you knew

wasn't what God had for you and for your marriage?

Well, I think for both Randy and I, we wanted to be connected and we didn't know how to do that.

I was not taught or showed or even knew what being vulnerable means. I was told very early on, as a matter of fact,

the day before Randy and I got married by my mentor, she said, now that you're going into

ministry, here's my best piece of advice for you is that you fake it until you make it and you don't let
