the trauma of stuttering when I was a child, and all those kids laughing at me in the elementary

schoolroom came up. And it was as if it was the voice of the enemy saying, who do you think you are?

Hi, this is Meredith Foster. God often uses your gifts and talents, but sometimes he calls you to do something that's not your strength. In fact, it might be one of your

greatest weaknesses. For Clay Harrington, being a stutterer meant a childhood of teasing and

humiliation every time he had to speak in front of the class. One thing he knew for sure,

he would never be a public speaker, and certainly not the preacher that his mother said he would

become. Tell me a little bit about your childhood, where you grew up, what kind of kid you were like.

Well, I grew up in a military family, so we moved around a lot. And so when I was, what, first grade

to ninth grade, I lived in Germany. Wow. And, you know, so I had a great experience, experiencing different cultures.

And growing up in high school years, I was living in Maryland, and then I lived some in Pennsylvania.

I went to school and college in Pennsylvania.

So I were, yeah, I would, I naturally just traveled.

And I grew in love with traveling. I could not stay in one

place for very long. That call was on my life to travel the world at a young age. Wow. Yeah.

So were you, what kind of a kid were you? I was, I was, you know, half mischievous, half,

half conservative, if you will. I will say you know, half mischievous, half conservative, if you will.

I will say that I tell a lot of people that I grew up as a drug baby.
