And that's, I think, the first time I really felt lonely.

Once my youngest left, I thought, I need to do something different.

I've got to go make some new memories or the old ones are going to kill me.

God's story has been unfolding.

Hey, this is Meredith Foster.

There been a few times on the unfolding podcast when we have shared a love story.

I love sharing stories that are an encouragement to anyone who's waiting and praying for a spouse.

So when my friend told me about Gina and Jeff, I knew I wanted to record their story. So it was about 12 years ago

that Gina's husband passed away after a short battle with cancer. They had two young children.

It was so difficult. She couldn't imagine ever loving someone that way again. Many years passed.

And eventually, Gina began praying for a husband, and her friends started

praying too. Little did she know across the country, Jeff, was praying a very similar prayer.

This is a beautiful story of hope and trusting God.

I grew up in Alabama. I lived there until about five years ago. I was an attorney, met my first

husband, and we were married for 18 years, had two beautiful children. And in September of 2012,

he was diagnosed with cancer and lived for three months. It was very fast. My kids were

13 and 15 at the time. We were very involved in church. Faith has always been an important
