Hi, this is Meredith Foster.

In this world, we will have trouble.

The question is, how will we respond? In the book of James,

it says we should count it all joy when we experience trials because it would make our faith

strong. Heidi Lee Anderson was 23 years old when she faced the first real trial of her life.

She was sitting in a doctor's office when she heard the unthinkable.

She had cancer. The prognosis, the side effects, the dire warnings about her future, it all

threatened to suck the hope right out of her. Like many of us, when we face something hard,

there was a great temptation to give in to fear. How could she suffer well? How could she hang on to faith? How could

she count it all joy? So I grew up in a Christian home. Both my parents love the Lord,

and they love taking us to church. And you know, before I always saw that as kind of a boring

testimony. I accepted Jesus into my heart to be my savior when I was four.

But now looking back, I mean, life can be really hard, right? And I just see that as, man,

the Lord's saving hand, his grace has been over my life since I was four. And now as a mom,

I mean, that's what I want that my kids would know Jesus as soon as possible. And so that is a

gift to me that I knew Jesus from an early age. And it was just walking in faith with him throughout
