And I realized in that moment I was being diagnosed with the same disease,

two months shy of the 20th anniversary of losing my mom to cancer.

And now I have cancer.

When you think of Scott Hamilton, it's not likely you think of failure.

He is, after all, the guy who won

four consecutive U.S. championships, four world championships, and in 1984, the Olympic gold medal in

men's figure skating. He's a three-time cancer survivor, television broadcaster, motivational

speaker, author, husband, and father, and the list goes

on. Scott says, the truth is, adversity has been the fuel for much of his success. He talks a lot

about that in his latest book, which is called Finish First. It was the thing that drove him to work

hard. But when Scott became a follower of Jesus, he realized that many of the choices he'd made were selfish, materialistic, just plain sinful.

And those failures didn't feel like fuel.
