In 1970, a small group of hippies walked into a church in Costa Mesa, California,

and helped change Christian music forever.

The Jesus movement had begun on the west coast of the United States, kicking off a spiritual

awakening that swept the nation. The movement launched denominations like Calvary Chapel and the vineyard.

It changed the way many followers of Jesus did church, music, and more. Chuck Gerard

was at the center of it. In 1969, he was a talented and successful musician, but nothing he'd found

in life brought the answers he was looking for. Like many young people, he had thrown off

traditional religion. He'd become a hippie, embraced drugs as the

path to finding spiritual truth. Chuck is one of the founding members of Love Song, a band that

changed Christian music. If you've seen the movie Jesus Revolution, you will love hearing this
