Page 153 of the unfolding is the story of Cedric Hardiman. God used those terrible seasons in my life.

No one wants to go through the desert. No one wants to be in the valley. But there's certain things

that I have to learn there before I can have a voice or say some on the mountaintop.

God's story has been unfolding.

Since the beginning of time.

He invites you to be a part of it.

When Cedric Hardiman faced tragedy as a teenager, his friends challenged him.

Would he walk away from his faith?

Or would that experience solidify what he believed?

A common thread throughout Cedric's life has been seeing how God uses it all, the successes, the things that look like failures,

the mountaintops, the desert experiences and disappointments. Somehow, God can work all of it

together for good. Today, Cedric is a pastor at Life Church, East Kansas City,

and he serves as the chaplain for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

But the road to these two dream opportunities,

well, it was hardly an easy straight path.

Instead, it's been a journey filled with opportunities

for Cedric to choose to trust God. I grew up in Oklahoma City.

The area I would say was inner city. And though my dad and my mom were together at the age of three,

my dad left, I've seen them five times my entire life. So my mom raised me and my older brother
