Hey, this is Meredith Foster.

Dmitri and Anya Pollyakov grew up in the USSR.

It was the largest country in the world at the time, governed by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Officially, the state religion was atheism. From the time they

were young, they'd been told there is no God, but they were restoration artists who studied

some of the greatest painters in the history of art. And many of those paintings depicted the story of Jesus.

But Dimitri and Anya had no idea.

The truth was right in front of them,

but they had never heard the story of God's love for them.

So who were you before?

What was your life like?

We were restoration artists.

We worked with the art in St. Petersburg, and there's some of the world-famous museums there, Hermitage, and Catherine's Palace and Pushkin, Peterhof, and a Russian museum.

I mean, there's a lot of beauty, and this beauty predominantly was a religious theme.

Yeah. Were you religious? Well, we were product of our time. We were born in the USSR. It's sort of our

version of Babylon. So, atheism was pretty much much state religion and that's really our background,
