I don't know you're allowed to podcast in hospitals. I mean if you are I'll have figured it out by now and I'll be making another

episodes but um checking on my Twitter feed hopefully I'm doing all right.

I'm now sort of wishing myself well from the past but by the time you listen to this obviously it will be the present but we are going back to the past today

with Patty Ashdown this is from 2016, Paddy of course, such an iconic political figure and such a dominant political figure in liberal left progressive politics for such a long time

and sadly no longer with us and that's one of the hard things about going back to this

back catalog is some of the wonderful people that I was so privileged to meet an interview sadly have passed on in that time and obviously Tessa Jowel and and today Patty Ashdown.

But I just had to include this because first see, it's a great company and secondly I think

you're always in awe of people who were politicians when you were first getting

into it and I think it's the same with football or anything is the first people you saw do it on the news

You always just think almost like they're the original politicians and paddy Ashdown is one of those people for me a

Titanic and Paddy Ashdown is one of those people for me, a titanic, totemic figure in liberal left progressive politics with just such a fantastic personality and brilliant, brilliant company.

And what I remember more than it,

is just his laugh, and his whole face would contour in laughter,

and just what a joy he was.

So from 2016, December 2016, almost, well just about seven years ago, enjoy this.
