We need student loan forgiveness beyond the potential $10,000 your administration has

a proposed.

We need at least a $50,000 minimum.

What will you do to make that happen?

I will not make that happen.

That was the extraordinary exchange during a CNN town hall meeting in Milwaukee the other

night in which President Biden drew a clear line in the sand.

No, he would not back a proposal being pushed by progressive groups to forgive up to $50,000

in student loan debts.

It was a signal that Biden, even while adopting some of the progressive agenda of his party,

is not about to be pushed around by the left, or at least not be seen as being pushed

around.

Is this a sign of a widening Gulf among Democrats as to how far and how fast Biden is

prepared to go?

And what about the even bigger rift within the Republican Party between the Donald Trump

Wing and the anti-Trump forces now led by none other than minority leader Mitch McConnell?
