| 0:53.2 | The years just keep passing us by, Mark, more schedule releases and all the fun stuff that's going on. So the Packers this year will have nine games at home and eight games on the road. Yeah, they get the extra home game this year because of, I guess, you know, alternate NFC, AFC every year. This is the NFC's term to have the extra game. I got to tell why I think I've mentioned this in the past, but since we're talking schedule, I'll tell a little story from the past. So when I first start covering football, right, I'm going way back now, late 80s, early 90s. We didn't, when the schedule came out, and it came out a lot earlier than than may middle of may |
| 1:29.2 | but we didn't know it like like now we know the only thing we don't know is when right we know |
| 1:35.2 | where they're playing we know who they're playing we don't know what date or what time we don't know |
| 1:40.4 | we don't know the night games we don't know they're playing on christmas or thanksgiving but we know who they're playing. And we know where the games are. Well, go way back. All we, like I covered the Eagles, right? All we, all I knew until the schedule came out, well, I knew they were going to play the Cowboys twice, the Giants twice, Washington twice, and the Cardinals twice. That's when the Cardinals were still |
| 2:01.5 | in the NFC East. So I knew those games, but we had no idea anything else. So that was kind of like, |
| 2:09.0 | it was a real fun day then because you didn't even like, oh, oh, oh, Eagles were playing the Packers. |
| 2:14.4 | Oh, that's interesting. I don't know. Because we didn't know where we were going. We didn't know anything. All we knew was the division game. We knew we had, you know, there was three home games against those, four against then home games and four road games. I knew I was going to Dallas every year. I knew I was going to, well, originally St. Louis, but then Phoenix, up to the Meadowlands and down to D.C. But we didn't know if we were going to, you know, Pittsburgh or we were going to Green Bay or we were going to wherever. You didn't, you had no idea. Right. Zero. Didn't it matter if you came in the first place, last place, you didn't know. And then they put the thing in where, like, now I could tell you who the Packers are playing next year. |
| 2:54.8 | I'll be able to. zero. Didn't matter if you came in the first place, last place, you didn't know. And then they put the thing in where, like, now I could tell you who the packers are playing next year, all but a couple games. Right. You know? And the year after that even. So, yeah. And where they're playing. So, yeah, it's not, I don't know what as a, like, all right, I was someone covering and having to write about it and kind of affect my life a little bit where I was going right I kind of like that I like the old way a little bit as a fan how do you feel well for travel it makes things a little bit easier if you want to try to figure out where you might be needing to travel if you you want to go to a road game or something like that. Or if you want to go to a home game and see a really good primetime opponent, then that's kind of cool. But I think that started when they changed the divisions, and Tampa left the NFC Central, and it became the NFC North. Then I think they went on us because they could because they had an even number of teams, maybe. I don't know what. 32 teams. I don't know, maybe. Well, they also went to the formula where I don't know how they did it in the past. I don't know. I have no idea how they just because it didn't matter. It wasn't like the first place team played other first place |
| 3:57.7 | teams and other last play no you just you didn't know year to year you just it was all totally |
