What is up, friends? Welcome back to another episode of the Packaday podcast. I'm your host, Andy Herman. You can follow me on Twitter at Andy Herman NFL. You can follow the podcast at Packaday Podcast. And if you haven't subscribed yet, what do you do? Just hit the little thing. It's super easy. If you want to support the show, it's one of the best things you can do. So I appreciate that. Today is a very interesting day on the NFL calendar, and you get this wide range of emotions, right?

0:42.6

On the one hand, you get your first look at the Packers 53 man roster, and the players

0:47.2

are going to be making up this team through basically the entirety of the 2023 season.

0:51.7

And yes, some players will come and go through the course of the year.

0:54.1

Some will get hurt. You'll add players from the practice squad and from some other teams and so on

0:58.0

and so forth. But this is still going to be your primary players on the roster this upcoming year.

1:02.4

And there's a level of excitement to see just exactly how Brian Gutikins and Matt LaFleur make up that roster.

1:07.8

You also have a lot of movement in the NFL. Jonathan Taylor is probably going

1:11.6

to be traded today or if he had maybe he has already by the time you're listening to this. Other

1:15.5

key players through the course of the NFL may end up switching teams. So there's a level of

1:19.7

excitement and you're checking, you know, Twitter throughout the course of the day to see who

1:23.5

traded whom and who signed and cut and waived and traded and everything else because it's a lot of movement in the NFL and those days are kind of exciting.

1:31.4

And then you've got the other side of things where a lot of players who have put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into trying to make NFL rosters see their dreams of making a 53 man roster shatter, at least initially.

1:41.6

And we've all seen players go on, you know, to have success stories

1:45.3

who have had releases and cuts and have had to work their way back up and find a way on another

1:49.8

team. But, you know, it's still difficult for those players. They've got to fight and claw their

1:55.3

way to try to make a practice squad and then get activated after that. And it's just a really tough

1:59.6

process. So I definitely feel for the people who are losing their job, have to relocate their families,

2:04.6

and so on and so forth.

2:05.6

It's just a difficult day for that.
