Happy Friday. Welcome into an all new episode of the Packa Day podcast. I'm your host, Andy Herman. You can follow me on Twitter at Andy Herman NFL and the podcast at Packaday Podcast. Thanks for being here today. Hope you enjoyed night one of the NFL draft. We are back today for day two. I had a great time in a live draft show yesterday. A ton of fun. We had over 1,200 people in chat. A lot of great questions, a lot of great discussion. Really enjoyed that. Justice Muscatus stopped by for a little bit. You can always go rewatch it if you missed it yesterday. It was fun to kind of just go through and relax. There was no Packers draft picks to talk about or anything like that. So we just kind of got to see things unfold. It was a ton of fun. Thank you to everyone who showed up and all the questions, the super chats, the new memberships. That was absolutely amazing. Hope you guys enjoyed it. I know I did plenty of time today to check out the live shows. Happy hour coming up, 3 p.m. Central Time and then live draft extravaganza of the draft

1:11.5

party. 5.30 p.m. Central Time. Remember an hour earlier today, draft starts an hour earlier. So

1:16.5

530 central time will be live. So I'll probably go three to four, four 30 somewhere in that range on the

1:21.9

happy hour. Take about an hour break to just get everything set. Probably have a bite to eat. And then

1:27.2

we'll go live

1:27.7

for the live show at again, 5.30 p.m. Central time. Thought overall, the draft was fun, enjoyable.

1:34.9

A couple of surprises. You know, you had, you know, Caleb Banks to Minnesota. We'll talk about

1:39.0

that. Tie Simpson to the Rams. We'll talk about that as well. But for most part, a pretty chalk draft. Some,

1:45.1

some trades, no drastic trades up or down. A lot of it was like one, two, three, four picks

1:49.8

down here and there. But overall, again, I thought active, exciting. A lot of good players went.

1:55.2

Some still on the board. We had some drama. And again, you got the big one, which was,

1:59.5

was Ty Simpson getting picked by the Rams. I think that was the sort of big shocker for the day. I will say, not a huge fan of the eight minute draft picks. I'm a huge nerd. I get, I'm in the, you know, group of people that the draft could have like, been going on until five in the morning. And I'd be like, this is great. This is amazing. Like, let's keep this going. So I get I'm in that, you know, version of it. But I think eight minutes is just a little on the short side to, you know, let things marinate. Like, because once the pick is made, you barely get to, you know, have anyone talk about the picks. And then all of a sudden we're on to the next one already, which is fine on like day three, right? But on day one,

2:35.3

you kind of want the opportunity to talk about these players. I know that for us that are all ingrained in the draft, we've been talking about these prospects for forever, but being able to talk about the team fit and what players got passed on for that player, like there's so much to break down. There's so much to break down and just rushing,

2:52.1

it seems a little bit odd. I mean, the overall draft time was good. It felt like it went really crisp, but I got to the end of the draft and I'm like, that was it. Like, I was ready to talk for like another couple hours, if need be. So overall, it's not the end of the world by any means, but I kind of like the 10 minutes a little bit more.

3:07.3

Let me know what do you guys think.

3:08.3

Did you like the 8 minutes or would you go 10?

3:10.6

I don't think

3:11.0

they need to go back to 15. That was too much, but I think the 10 was kind of perfect. But let me know what you guys think.
