Summary

RotoViz Radio executive producer Colm Kelly joins host Thomas Emerick for one of the Packers-Cowboys playoff thrillers that the 2010s gave to the world. Dak Prescott's first playoff game doesn't begin well — and Tony Romo's in pads — but the rookie rallies his team back. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers finished the regular season hot yet were still considered underdogs in Dallas with the No. 1 seed hosting. This rematch from two divisional rounds prior does not disappoint. These teams just like meeting the playoffs it seems, though it depends on who you ask and in which decade. This is Remember That Game, the podcast about sporting events that take you on a journey and chart the path of the zeitgeist. I'm your host Thomas Emerick, enjoy the show. I imagine for Cobbies fans, this game was about redemption for 2014, the Descottic game.

0:47.3

But for Packers fans like yourself, I bet you were not even thinking about them as much

0:52.0

and more so about people counting out the packers.

Yeah, this was a pretty wide season to run to this point and we are going to get into it,

0:59.8

but a lot of the first part when you asked like which game did I want to do, what I sent you

1:04.9

over was a YouTube clip about run the table. That was what led to this point. It wasn't

1:10.5

a stellar start to the season. Packers

were in a lot of trouble and Arn Rogers and the style that he had at the time, there was a few

1:19.7

of these different phrases over the years, but it was a case where he answers the question of one

1:24.5

of the beat reporters as to, you know, is your season over?

1:27.8

And he says, I don't think so. And then they move into, well, what, what do you need to do?

1:33.2

And he said, I think we just need to run the table. So the Packers went on a pretty epic run

1:37.3

to march themselves towards the playoffs. They then went and beat the Giants in the playoffs.

1:43.1

And then they go to the cowboys here at Jerry World.

1:47.1

Yeah, start off four and six, but now no one circles the wagons like the Green Bay Packers.
