intrepid adventures trying to get into country that hadn't been explored,

hadn't been hunted before used rafts.

And today we've got another kind of explorer pioneer in his realm on the line.

I'm really excited to talk with Thor today, who was the founder of Alpaca Rafts. Welcome to the show, and thank you for

joining me here. I think that's the most interesting introduction I've ever had. I could call the

way back to Lewis and Clark. I like it. Deep roots, brother. Yeah, I'll take it. Just for our listeners,

give us a 30,000 foot view of who you are and

what your company is. And then I want to hear about the genesis of Alpaca Raft.

Yeah. So my mom, Sherry Tingi and myself founded Alpaca back in 2000, 2000 to 2002, somewhere in there.

We made our first prototypes and brought the business live.

So pack grafting is older than alpaca, but we really commercialized the sport.

And at its simplest, it's a one to two person inflatable raft that you can put in a backpack.

So that allows you to access places that you can't really access with the traditional watercraft.

Yeah, outstanding.

You went through an experience in Alaska with, I guess, what you deem an unsatisfactory type of

raft that kind of inspired you on this journey, didn't you?

Yeah.

So I had a really good childhood.

My dad was National Park Service.

So I was born in Jackson Hole in the Teton's.
