Hello everybody and welcome to episode 167 of the Pack a Day podcast. My name is

Andy Herman, and we sort of have a pretty big show for you today. It has obviously been

announced that the Green Bay Packers are going to be hiring Tennessee Titans' offensive

coordinator Matt LaFleur as their next NFL head coach,

obviously a very big deal. And to join me today in this kind of exciting announcement,

this exciting news is two of our Packaday podcast regulars. My name, of course, is Andy Herman. I'm a

Gentlemen, we have a brand new head coach of the Green Bay Packers.

How the heck are you doing? Zach, let me start with you. How are you feeling, buddy? Well, I could tell you one thing. It was not what I was expecting. I don't think it was really what a lot of people were expecting. I know Josh McDanielers was the one guy that it seemed like the Packers were really honing in on. There was that mutual interest on both sides. He turned down the interview with the Bengals.

He had an interest with the Browns, but they never took that interview.

It seemed like the fit was there, and he was going to be back for a second interview whenever

the Patriots were eliminated, whenever they finished that divisional round game.

It seemed like he was going to be back or back head to Green Bay for that second interview.

But it makes sense why the Packers wanted to kind of knock out their candidate early and kind of

tackle him while he's there because now they get to focus on assembling their staff.

They get to get ready for the whole scouting process, get ready for the combine at the end of February.

And, you know, he has that offensive pet degree working in Los Angeles,

undershot Mike Shanahan Street with, you know, and Kyle Shanahan in Atlanta,

or not Atlanta, but he worked with Matt Ryan in his 2016 MVP season with the Falcon.
