Summary
(00:00-29:34) – Query & Company opens on a Tuesday with Jake Query, James Boyd, and producer Eddie Garrison sharing some of their thoughts on the Indiana Pacers season ending last night against the Boston Celtics. They also share some of their thoughts about Sunday’s Indianapolis 500 mile race with Josef Newgarden going back-to-back.
(29:34-45:49) – Two-time Indianapolis 500 champion, Josef Newgarden, joins Query & Company to recap the final laps of Sunday’s race, states that he would have done exactly what Pato O’Ward did if he was in Pato’s position, reveals that he saved too much fuel and had to move up four spots on the restart after the last crash, applauds the fans for sticking around for four hours to watch the race later in the afternoon, touches on the suspensions that Team Penske issued at the start of the month, and assesses if he was able to take in other aspects to winning the race this year that he didn’t take in last year.
(45:49-49:34) – Hour one concludes with Jake sharing the three winners of our Indy 500 numbers game and taking a call from a listener appreciating the racing coverage the fan had the entire month.
(49:34-1:22:44) – Hour number two with Jake Query and James Boyd starts with them playing what Rick Carlisle said about the future of Pascal Siakam with the Pacers on the Wake Up Call this morning. This leads to a discussion between Jake and James about whether paying Pascal Siakam a max contract makes sense.
(1:22:44-1:34:15) – After their conversation about Pascal Siakam, Jake and James shift their conversation to remembering Bill Walton after his passing yesterday. Jake shares a story that he was told about Walton helping out an Indianapolis citizen years ago and James shares his point of view on the iconic individual he was.
(1:34:15-1:38:32) – The second hour of the program concludes with Jake and Jimmy continuing to give out numbers for the Indianapolis 500.
(1:38:32-2:13:35) – The final hour of the show starts with Dustin Dopirak briefly joining before he must go back to exit interviews. Jake and James open the phone lines after the brief conversation for Pacers fans to share their favorite memories from the season and join in on the Siakam debate. Indiana Pacers beat reporter from the Indianapolis Star in Dustin Dopirak rejoins the program after talking with Bennedict Mathurin to reveal what Mathurin shared in his exit interview, shares some notes from last night and today from the exit interviews that have been conducted, and receives some travel advice from Jake.
(2:13:35-2:22:37) – Jake and James rehash some of their thoughts about the Indiana Pacers potentially signing Pascal Siakam to a max contract this offseason.
(2:22:37-2:29:08) – Today’s show ends with JMV joining the guys in studio to recap his Indy 500 weekend and dives into some of the players that the Pacers need to look at adding in order to improve in some of their decencies.
