Summary

(00:00-35:22) – Query & Company opens on a Wednesday with Jake Query, Derek Schultz, and producer Eddie Garrison welcoming Derek to the company. After the welcome party, they debate when the hype around Caitlin Clark will start to settle down with the Indiana Fever struggling still. Bob Kravitz joins the show to share his thoughts on signing Pascal Siakam to a max contract extension, asks Jake and Derek if it would make sense to trade Andrew Nembhard or Bennedict Mathurin in order to get another star player in the blue and gold, states that the Pacers need to go out and get somebody that specializes in rebounding and be an enforcer like Antonio Davis or Dale Davis, and assesses how the franchise should evaluate the season.

(35:22-46:51) – Following their conversation with Bob Kravitz, Jake and Derek allow listeners to call in to pick their brains and reminisce on old times when the two used to host a show daily.

(46:51-50:47) – Hour one concludes with Jake and Derek receiving a text from someone they used to work with back in the day that leads to Derek admitting that he accidentally had a pair of pants shipped to the building after he was let go.

(50:47-1:13:52) – Hour number two with Jake Query and Derek Schultz starts with the two discussing the Western Conference Finals game last night between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves because Jake doesn’t think the series is over just yet. Following that conversation, they discuss the Eleven Park and MLS Stadium news that came out last night.

(1:13:52-1:31:59) – Senior NBA Insider, Mike Scotto, from Hoops Hype joins Query & Company with Jake Query and Derek Schultz to share his thoughts on the season the Indiana Pacers had, weighs in on the Pascal Siakam max contract debate, lists the decisions that the front office have to make in the near future with some of their young players, and agrees with Derek that the Pacers getting rid of their first round pick in this draft for Siakam was a great decision with how weak this draft is.

(1:31:59-1:37:08) – The second hour of the program concludes with Jake sharing a couple texts he has received with the reunion of Query & Schultz.

(1:38:32-2:03:05) – Scott Agness from Fieldhouse Files and 1075thefan.com joins Jake and Derek to reveal his thoughts on people complaining about the job that Christie Sides has done with Caitlin Clark to start her rookie year, tries to provide a player comparison for Jarace Walker if he develops into the player that the Pacers hope he can be, and then examines the back half of the roster with the two-way contracts since the Pacers have three second round picks.

(2:13:35-2:23:13) – Jake and Derek discuss the news from earlier in the day that all the charges on Scottie Scheffler will be dropped. Additionally, they compare the situation that the Indiana Pacers are in with Pascal Siakam to the situation the Indianapolis Colts were in with Michael Pittman Jr.

(2:23:13-2:30:58) – Today’s show ends with Jake, Derek, and JMV debating if people ever use the term ‘midtown’ besides Derek. Additionally, JMV asks if today brought back some memories of them doing the show together back in the day.

Like I hadn't heard this song, this music, for five years, four years, something like that,

0:15.7

four and a half. And then it comes on and I'm like, the last time I heard it, we were in separate rooms.

And now there's not even a glass wall between us.

But with Jimmy Cook's on jury duty, he is sequestered as a matter of fact for a high profile, apparently in Evansville.

0:36.6

I don't know if it was bank robbery or it's like some sort of institution, like an embezzlement

0:44.4

thing, like a white collar crime.

0:46.5

But apparently it was out of Evansville, high profile.

0:50.4

So they moved the venue of the trial to Marion County,

0:55.6

and Jimmy is on the jury duty for that and has been sequestered.

0:59.3

So we don't know when he's back.

1:00.5

I think they're expecting for it to go to the jury on Friday.

1:04.8

So hopefully that means he's back Monday.

1:07.1

But as a result of Jimmy's absence,

1:18.1

they've apparently sent out like an APB on people to come in and join the company with Eddie and myself.

1:21.6

Yesterday it was James Boyd. James Boyd is back on Friday, correct, Eddie?

1:22.5

That would be correct.

1:26.6

And then, were you in charge of today's guest or how did that work out?

1:27.6

I don't know. It wasn't me for sure.

1:28.5

I can tell you that.

1:29.3

Okay.

1:29.9

Because I'm trying to work my way up the company ladder here.
