| 0:45.8 | diagnosed with secondary a minaria there needs to be an absence of menses |
| 0:50.0 | for six months, right? So no menstruation for six months, |
| 0:53.7 | months, this deserves a workup. |
| 0:55.6 | Now, if the woman is not menstruating, |
| 0:58.9 | but she's on birth control, then that's fine. |
| 1:01.4 | That's okay, right? The point of birth control is to stop |
| 1:05.1 | ovulation. If you're not ovulating, then it's okay not to have a menstrual cycle, |
| 1:09.9 | right? So you need to reassure these patients that if they're on birth control pills and they're not having a menstrual cycle |
| 1:16.6 | Then it's okay. It's normal. It's fine. They don't need to worry about it |
| 1:20.1 | But you'd be surprised how many people come into the office wondering why they're not getting |
| 1:25.2 | a menstrual cycle even though they're on birth control. |
| 1:27.8 | So that's the reason, and that's fine. |
| 1:29.8 | Now the first thing you need to do with anybody, anybody coming in saying I haven't had a period, you need to do a pregnancy test, right? |
