So I work in family practice and OBGYN, it's a combination clinic and this really allows us to see a multitude of patients.

We also work with uninsured patients as well, so that in itself lends to a completely

different patient population. So there's a couple reasons why I chose to work here.

The first reason is I was offered this position about six months after starting clinicals, six months

after starting the program because we started clinicals after the first quarter and I

just felt really comfortable there. I also like the variety and the freedom that this clinic offered. I could go from

let's say pneumonia and then jump to CHF to cancer to diabetes so it really allowed me to grow

as a PA especially starting out you know right out of school and also I was able to be a solo provider.

Now being a solo provider fresh out of school was definitely a scary venture.

I was definitely uncomfortable a lot, but I feel like this is what allowed me to grow a lot more quickly than if let's say I was being coddled or if I was

being babysat so just this combination is why I chose this.

So as I mentioned, I'm a dermatology P. I've been working in Durham since I graduated school. I absolutely love it. Why?
