The edge in the stock market may be increasingly going to the companies that own the operating layer, not the brand.

We're reflecting on three examples of this today on Mottley Full Money.

Today is Tuesday, January 27th. Welcome to Mottley Fool Money. I'm your host, Emily Flippin,

0:25.8

and today I'm joined by Fool analyst Jason Hall and Asset Sharma to discuss the power of owning

0:30.2

the operating system underlying our everyday lives. Today we'll be discussing how

0:34.2

restaurants are integrating tech improvements to improve their output, as well as a unique deal between USA Rare Earth and the government, and how that shows

the strategic importance of resources. But first, we have to start with the recent, but arguably

0:46.3

not surprising news out yesterday that Corweave is getting yet even more support from

0:51.5

NVIDIA via a $2 billion infrastructure investment.

0:55.4

Now, Corrieve shares were up more than 10% yesterday after NVIDIA bought $2 billion worth

0:59.9

of stock at a share price of around $87, a discount of around 6.5% compared to Friday's

1:05.8

clothing price.

I mean, NVIDIA's already been backing CoreWeave because CoreWeave does build and rent the

1:13.3

data centers for AI usage that obviously uses Nvidia chips to run.

1:17.5

And NVIDIA does have agreements with CoreWeave to buy unsold data center capacity over the

1:21.8

course of the next six or so years.

1:23.6

But, Jason, when you look at this deal, is Invidia justified by the investment?

1:28.2

I mean, they said they're working with CoreWeave to, quote, meet extraordinary demand for

1:32.4

Nvidia AI factories and that the investment will help accelerate its build-outs of 5 gigawatts

1:37.5

of AI factories by 2030.

1:39.8

But critics obviously were concerned.
