Summary

This is the last episode of season 3 before season 4 launches in just a few short weeks. The topic? Just as we had to adapt into lockdown and deal with all of the anxiety that brought fore, so too will it take a little bit of time to adapt back to whatever our new normal will be. There might be some social anxiety, our bodies have been conditioned to be hyper vigilant to protect us from the virus so it could feel unnerving to be back in close proximity to others and in general we've all gotten used to living a much smaller life. Here's exactly what to be mindful of as you get back to normal. Plus 12 questions to always ask yourself whenever you feel panicky or anxious.

episode of Season 3 of Owning It the Anxiety Podcast with me, Caroline Forin. I'm wrapping up this week

0:29.2

for just a few weeks and then on July 6th you can expect the first episode of Season 4 to launch

0:33.9

and that will be completely guest-led as a season with lots of experts and I'm really

0:38.6

excited about it. I've got some really great names in the mix and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

0:43.1

I hope you will. I also really hope that you found this series helpful. I know it's been short

0:47.7

and sweet and you might be used to podcasts that go beyond an hour as opposed to the kind of 20-minute

0:53.2

ones I've been sharing,

0:58.1

but I hope it's been somewhat effective in guiding us through what has been a very strange time and offering some comfort. Now I know we are by no means completely out of the woods yet,

1:03.5

but it seems that at least in the countries where most of you are listening in,

1:06.7

and definitely here in Ireland, things are starting to improve. We're seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

1:11.7

We're starting to emerge from lockdown with the easing of restrictions mapped out in phases.

1:15.9

That's how it's happening here in Ireland anyway.

1:18.3

And it's exciting and as positive as that might seem,

1:21.0

I do think the coming months will require us to continue being mindful and careful

1:25.3

while trying to resume the kinds of lives we've led before.

1:28.9

So this whole series has been about managing anxiety, specifically the anxiety that we've been hit

1:33.7

with as the reality of the pandemic started to weigh down upon us. We were suddenly quite literally

1:38.8

isolated from family and friends. Some of us were isolating entirely alone, which I can only

1:43.3

imagine was incredibly

1:44.3

tough from a mental health perspective. We were facing a very real threat in the form of the virus,
