Owen Tippett reveals why he missed the Flyers' second round playoff series against the Carolina

The Flyers were obviously without Owen Tippett for the entirety of their second round playoff series against the

carolina hurricanes and before exit interview day even officially started around nine a m this

morning here in vorhees we got the reason for that absence via a tippett statement released by the flyers online social media

accounts. According to Tippett, the reason why he could not play against the hurricanes, it was

discovered after the Pittsburgh series that he was suffering from internal bleeding that made it

impossible for him to be cleared for the series. Now a couple of hours later we had the opportunity

to speak with Owen Tippett about the revelation. Tippet said that while he was battling

injuries, it was typically a sports hernia through the entirety of the first round series

against the Pittsburgh Penguins. It wasn't until after game six that it was determined that he

was dealing with internal bleeding.

He said he was feeling a little bit off at the end of that series.

It hadn't been discovered.

It obviously made a really big play in the lead up to the game-winning goal where he kind of got the Flyers going from a momentum standpoint in overtime with a rush,

set up Porter Martone for a quality chance.

A couple shifts later to the Flyers score, the game winning goal in overtime via Cam York's

point shot.
