You may remember that back in May, we told you that the home goods retailer, Bed Bath,

and Beyond, was, well, circling the drain. They tried a series of desperate attempts to turn the company around. First, there was a new stock filing, then a big loan to generate the capital

the company needed to stay afloat, but even those moves weren't enough to offset the post-pandemic

drop in sales.

And so the company filed for bankruptcy.

Of course, Bed Bath and Beyond wasn't the only home goods retailer worrying it might have to

throw in the towel. The whole sector has been in trouble for some time.

In April, rival Overstock reported a first quarter net loss of more than $10 million,

adding to a string of disappointing earnings results. CEO Jonathan Johnson chalked up the loss to a, quote,
