But we'll begin by talking about Ty Simpson,

who was in the news yesterday.

Word broke that the Jets are giving Simpson a private workout today.

And I'm a bit incredulous at the reaction to this.

It's worth hearing that the Jets are working out Simpson.

But if you went over the internet yesterday, essentially you would have been led to believe that

it's now a lock the Jets are drafting Simpson. And I have to ask myself, are we collectively this

board? Don't we understand what a workout means? A workout is part of the evaluation process.

That's what you do as you're trying to figure out whether you want to draft a guy or not.

The Jets have not made a final decision on Simpson or any other prospect. If the Jets knew they were drafting Simpson, a workout would not be necessary.

If the Jets knew they were not drafting Simpson, or workout would not be necessary. The workout helps decide whether you draft him or not.

And so I don't know why we act like this.

We see this every year.

The Jets work out tens of players.

They don't draft them all.
