Summary

Patrick Daugherty (@RotoPat), Denny Carter (@CDCarter13) and Lawrence Jackson (@LordDontLose) take advantage of a slow news week to engage in some ADP talk. Getting right down to it: Who are some overdrafts, and who are some bargains? Lawrence makes the case Justin Herbert and Ken Walker are going too high, while Denny chimes in with Darren Waller. Pat wonders if Calvin Ridley should really be the WR16. On the bargain front, Lawrence makes the argument for Jahmyr Gibbs, while Denny looks into Kyle Pitts and Chris Godwin. They close the show debating Devon Achane’s low-end RB3 ADP.

Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Rotoral football show. I am Patrick Darty joined by Danny Carter and Lawrence Jackson on Thursday, May 25th, not a lot to talk about right now.

0:26.0

In the news front, at least that is. I haven't been a feel like minor OTA injuries, kind of stuff everyone forgotten about in a few weeks, but plenty to talk about in the drafting world actually as we know, you know, the explosion of bestball has led to very reliable, very good ADP data like very early in the off season much earlier than we used to get some of the legacy services aren't even drafting it, but best balls raging. We have ADPs to debate and we're going to bring in some players

0:56.0

we think are being overdrafted and under drafted after what two or three months of bestball drafting here and kind of just give people an idea. People who might not be playing bestball like a lot of our redraf listeners just a snapshot of what the early ADPs are how they might change what we think is too high or too low. But first, you wanted to talk about the too high number of foot surgeries that Jimmy.

1:22.0

Well, it's been undergoing the past two years, so what is the latest developments in Jimmy G and Raiders line? Yeah, so it looks like Jimmy G may or may not be ready for week one after undergoing foot surgery, a full not one, not two, not even three, but four months after he suffered his foot injury against the dolphins in week 13, propelling Brock Purtie, of course, to his all thing career.

1:48.0

And I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm just that was Sam Donald Shade, I didn't mean it. And you know, but but now now we have basically a Raiders team without without a quarterback for the next few months as as Jimmy G recovers. This is the time of year where Gropelow is supposed to be creating chemistry with maybe I don't know Devonte Adams, who is not happy about things. He's supposed to be learning the system or maybe relearning it under Josh McDaniels.

2:17.0

He's not going to be able to do that. And I find the timing of this procedure curious. I think it's follows in line with a with a history of Jimmy Gropelow having curious timing with his surgeries to miss work. I think this is the key here.

2:36.0

Denny, I believe you referred to him in a text off show is a labor hero because he is very good at turning his work injuries into personal leisure time, basically.

2:48.0

Yeah, and making sure he's not going under the knife until his most costly for the company. And I speak for management everywhere, by the way, when I say we're going to get you, Denny, we're going to.

3:00.0

I'm not mad. I'm not mad at him at all. I mean, like, Denny, if you, you know, you, you hear you work at NBC sports world or where if you could get away, right, we're doing absolutely nothing until week one, you wouldn't you do it. I know I would.

3:19.0

You know, I would say yes. If I, if I were, you know, a real, a real working class hero, but Pat knows that I actually can't, can't do nothing. I can't, I cannot. Like, even when I don't have to do anything, I end up doing stuff.

3:36.0

I, so, so I guess the, I guess the answer is no, but I couldn't blame. I couldn't blame anybody. I just, I, I do think that this raider situation is headed toward other disaster.

3:46.0

This complete fiasco. And he presents himself as man of the people. And by the way, he never stops working. And he never stops golfing. What were you going to say, Lawrence?

3:54.0

Yeah, I mean, even without this little injury thing, I mean, my man Jimmy G just don't like practicing like he like AI like practice. He don't need practice. He could come in there and do what he'd been doing, you know, the rest of his career.

4:06.0

So he don't need your little practices, you know, but hey, never fear, never fear Brian Hoyer is here. Oh my gosh. How is that seriously, like, not parody. And he actually is the backup. Cause it is true.

4:20.0

And I just can't really decide. I can't tell what Jimmy G likes about football period where he doesn't really like playing it.

4:27.0

I don't think he particularly likes the camaraderie and locker room aspect of it. So reminded of he was always known for being a bit aloof.

4:34.0

Then they ask Kyle Shanahan and March has he spoken to Jimmy Garoppolo since his move to Las Vegas. And his quote was, that would be impossible. You have got to run into Jimmy to have a conversation.

4:46.0

Yeah. Maybe Jimmy's just really good at being unplugged in these two connected times, but it doesn't really seem like he likes playing or that he likes the brotherhood.

4:56.0

Shanahan was very upfront with saying that you don't talk to Jimmy. Jimmy talks to you. Yes. And I think that that's the way it goes.

5:06.0

But you know what? Look, when you're that handsome, when you're making that much money, maybe it just doesn't matter. I get that.

5:12.0

Well, it may be better than the 23rd best quarterback in the NFL. But I was but see what didn't elude into what Danny said. You know, he got the looks.

5:22.0

He's more of like one of them QBs you see in the movies. So it's like, you know, he he a good looking dude and he's the quarterback.
