Summary

You are not defined by what other people do to you. You can only be defined by who God is for you. To walk in the Spirit is to be careful to maintain acts of goodness in our own lifestyle. It’s not an option. It’s the only viable expression of the Kingdom.

0:13.2	overcomes opposition, not because we're seeking vengeance or vindication, but because
0:19.0	how we treat others is rooted in the goodness that he's always giving to us. Here's a
0:25.9	powerful quote from today's clip that completely captured my heart when I heard it. It says,
0:31.4	you are not defined by what other people do to you. You can only be defined by who God is for
0:39.4	you. So what do you say? Who has God been for you? Surely goodness and mercy will follow you all
0:48.2	the days of your life. That's a promise you can cling to, and it's the very nature of God that
0:54.6	you get to reflect to others. Let's jump right in with Graham as we look at goodness as a way
1:01.8	of life. Goodness is critical in times of opposition and warfare. We are to love our enemies and
1:14.2	do good to them. Let me read you something else in the Bible. Luke 6, 27, but I say to you who
1:27.3	hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those
1:38.7	who mistreat you. Whoever hits you on the cheek offer him the other one also. Whoever takes away
1:46.5	your coat do not withhold your shirt from him either. Give to everyone who asks of you and whoever
1:54.9	takes away what is yours do not demand it back. Treat others the same way you want them to treat
2:03.9	you. If you love those who love you what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love
2:11.4	them. If you do good to those who do good to you what credit is that to you for even sinners do
2:18.7	the same. If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive what credit is that to you?
2:29.0	Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount. But love your enemies and
2:37.3	do good and lend expecting nothing in return and your reward will be great and you will be
2:46.5	sons of the most high. For he himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.
