Hey y'all, kind of a long story.

When I started my career as a research biologist,

I worked for someone at a lab for 1.5 years.

I ended up leaving because she was frequently demeaning and insulted to me and other lab members

throughout my time there.

She'd also yell at us and have fits whenever she thought we were underperforming,

aka working less than 10 hours a day.

The founder straw was when she told me I would never be good enough to be a PhD student,

which was my short-term career goal at the time.

This all happened when I was 20 to 21.

I've been working a different lab for the last couple of years, and I've done well enough to be

accepted to the cancer biology of PhD program at Stanford, one of the most competitive

in the country.

At this point, I'm feeling like hot shit, and I've been debating with myself whether to call

my ex-boss up to tell her how utterly wrong she was.

I tell this story to get your perspective on any time you all were disrespected, talked down to

in your professional lives, and how y'all went about letting whoever know they're wrong

and they can suck a dick, thanks.
