Hi, everyone. We come on the air with a wapper of a breaking news story for you. A settlement

has been reached in that massive $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit brought by Dominion

boating systems against Fox News. It was that kind of day. Everyone waiting for a Vatican

like puff of smoke, a lot of delays, a lot of pontificating, a lot of wondering what

might be happening. And now we know, Nick Compton, the story of the judge, Judge Davis,

in this case announcing at 357 as we sat here to come on the air that quote, the parties

have resolved this case. Can you add any of your own reporting?

Look, this is a very big deal. And it's surprisingly many people. Today was going to be the opening

day of our arguments. And there was a two hour long delay after lunch. No one came back

to do opening arguments. We saw us lawyers for the two parties talking in the courtroom

and then leaving the courtroom, exchanging some paper. And then shortly before air time,

we get this announcement from the judge that the settlement has been reached. The case

is over before it even really starts. And Andrew, this has been a story of legal bombshells

and reputational barrages against Fox News for knowingly broadcasting lies about Dominion

voting systems to have accepted a settlement. What must this include?

Well, the number is going to be the thing that everyone's sort of looking for because no

matter what Fox wants to spin this as, whether it is 1.6 or more is going to be really telling

because the here, for Dominion, what they get out of it is immediate cash because there

won't be appeals, there won't be all these legal issues that Fox would clearly do.

They're sort of trump tactic of delaying things. And the real issue is this a deterrent.

When I think about this case, yes, liability is incredibly important, but what you really

have here and you have in the Alvin Bragg case, frankly, the same thing, which is the undermining
