So a new book about two of my favorite things, languages and queer culture, really grab my attention.

Today I'll be talking with Marwan Kabur. Marwan is a graphic designer,

an artist and writer, and he's the founder of Taqqir, an online archive of queer narratives

in Arab history and popular culture. And his latest book, The Queer Arab Glossary,

is the first published collection of Arabic LGBTQ Plus language.

about the queer Arab glossary that just came out in September. I wonder if you can begin by

telling us where the project

began. What's the originate from two different points in my life? The first one, I kind of

figured it out after I finished doing the book. And the second one is a more obvious answer. So I'll

start with the second one. That it is the first realized project to come out of Taquir, which is a more obvious answer, so I'll start with the second one, that it is the first

realized project to come out of Taqqir, which is a platform that I launched five years ago, actually,

in September of 2019, which aims to explore queer narratives in the context of the Arabic-speaking

region and its cultures.
